Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the First English Lutheran Church for a long time resident of Faribault, Mrs. Carl Hirdler, who died of a heart attack Saturday evening February 20 in her home in Morristown. Rev. A. L. Rustad will officiate. Nellie Katherine Ray, daughter of Melvin and Elizabeth Ray was born September 5, 1897, at Cordova. On Oct. 24, 1914 she was married to Carl Hirdler in Forest township. They lived in Wells and Forest township until 17 years ago, when they moved to Faribault, and in April, 1953, they moved to Morristown.
Surviving are her husband, Carl, seven sons and two daughters: Russell of St. Cloud; Leroy of Isanti, Henry, Webster, Floyd, Faribault; Ralph , Stillwater; Arthur in Korea; and Bernard at home; Dorothy; Dorothy, Mrs. Walter Foust of Faribault, and Marjorie, at home. Also surviving are four sisters: Mrs. Fred Schmitz and Mrs. George Miller, Faribault; Mrs. Frank Hausen, Oakland, calif.; and Mrs. Perry Poole, Rosemount; and two brothers, Melvin Ray, West Concord and Earl Ray of Anoka.
The remains will be in the Kruger Funeral home in Morristown. Monday evening until Tuesday noon and will lie in state in the church from 1 to 2 p.m. Pallbearers will be Bert Hausen, Lawrence Hausen, Gerald Schmitz and Bernard Maas of Faribault, Earl Hirdler of Mankato and Robert Ray of West Concord. Burial will be in Meadow Ridge cemetery.
