Funeral services for Henry J. Hirdler were held at the Parker Funeral Home in Faribault on Friday afternoon Nov. 1, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Mr. John Kyllo, pastor of the Solar and Emmanuel Lutheran Churches of Webster, officiating. Mrs. John Parker sang "Beautiful Saviour" and "Abide With Me" accompanied by Mrs. Robert Cleland. Pallbearers were brothers-in-law of Mr. Hirdler and included: Anthony Novotny, Francis Novotny, and Ray Novotny of Webster John Novotny of Webster John Novotny of Northeld, Joseph Pudil of Webster and Walter Foust of Faribault. Interment was in the family lot in the Millersburg Cemetery in Forest Township, Rice County. Relatives and friends attending the services from away were from: Webster, St. Cloud, Braham, Minneapolis, Montevideo, Wilmar and Northfield.

Henry Joseph Hirdler, son of Carl and Nellie Ray Hirdler, was born at his parents' farm home in Forest Township near Millersburg on May 2, 1920 He attended the public schools in Shieldsville, following which he worked for several years as a driver for the Northfield Condensory. On Sept. 17, 1943 he was united in marriage to Miss Ida Novotny at Faribault. They made their home in Webster where they have since resided. Mr. HIrdler was employed in Faribault with the Gamble Store and later with the O. T. Rafdal Company. For the past several years, he was retired due to failing health. He passed away at the Allard Nursing Home in Faribault on Tuesday morning Oct. 29, following an extended illness.

He is survived by his widow, Ida; and six children, Maynard, David, Francis, Stanley, Dale and Mary Jane, all of Webster, six brothers, Russell and Arthur of St. Cloud, LeRoy of Braham, Floyd of Minneapolis, Bernard of Montevideo, and Ralph of Wilmar; two sisters, Mrs. Walter Foust (Dorothy) of Faribault and Mrs. James O'Connor (Marjorie) of Dallas, Tex., aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister.
