Ida Teresa Childs (111) b. Mar. 7, 1885 in Sanborn Co., SD was the daughter of Fred Kuemmerle and Clara Zietchel. She died Oct. 21, 1966 Newcastle, Weston Co. WY.
Ida attended schools in rural areas, Alexandria, SD, and Normal School in Mitchell, SD. She taught school in South Dakota for four years. In 1909 she moved to a homestead in Wyoming.
On day after Christmas, Dec. 26, 1912 in Mitchell, SD Ida married Clifford Ernest Childs, son of Joseph Childs and Blanche Clementina Peckenpaugh. After their marriage, for three years, they lived in Pettibone, ND twelve miles from her husband's brother, Guy Truman Childs, who lived in Woodworth, ND. In 1915 Ida and Clifford, came to Ida's Childs Deep Creek Homestead by covered wagon in eastern Wyoming near Upton, WY. They lived and raised their children on the Homestead until they retired to Osage, WY.
Ida and Clifford regularly attended the United Methodist church in Upton, WY where they were members.

1. Joseph E. Childs (92) b. Dec. 1916 in Upton, WY; Married Faye Vincent on September 21, 1940 in Bolivar, MO; d. Aug. 2008.
2. Audrey (Childs) Myers (90) b. Mar. 27, 1918 in Upton, WY d. Jan. 2009 from Florence, Arizona. She married Burt Myers
3. Esley Clara (Childs) Holwell (93) b. Aug. 3, 1921 on Deep Creek Homestead Upton, Weston Co., WY married Milton Holwell. Esley was a school teacher. (four children:Carlos (Cindy) of Ohio, Jenness (John) Stienmetz of Fort Laramie, WY, Casey (Rosa) of Arizona, and Carey (Mel) Hamilton of Casper, WY,) Esley died Jan. 1, 2015 in Casper, WY. Her last residence was Osage and is buried at Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD.
4. Carlos "Lyndon" Childs. b. 1930 Upton, WY. married Lydia Rheinhart. Lived in Upton, WY.
