Audrey Lavern Myers (Childs) , 90, of Florence, AZ died Jan. 8, 2009 at Casa Grande Regional Medical Center, Casa Grande, AZ.

Audrey was the second of four children (Joseph, Audrey, Esley, Carlos) born to Clifford Ernest Childs and Ida Kuemmerle. She was born March 27, 1918 in Upton, WY. Audrey was their only daughter.

Ira Childs, her uncle on her father's side, invited Audrey to attend high school in Arizona. When she graduated, her father, Clifford, came to get her, however, by then she had fallen in love and would not return to Wyoming. When her uncle, Ira Childs, who had no children, died, she inherited his (Ira Childs) ranch . Having a large family that was a wonderful gift to her. Her uncle was a druggist and rancher by profession and had left Wyoming and made his home outside of Florence, AZ due to allergies.

Audrey married Burt Wallace MEYERS on Nov. 10, 1934 of Florence, AZ the son of George Washington Myers and Carrie Ormsby . Audrey was a stay-at-home mom after the children were born. She and Burt had seven children:

1. Lavern C. Myers b. 1935 Serapi AZ married Thomas Kirk 2 children: Thomas Kirk and Janie Kirk . They live in Casa Grande.

2. Budd Myers b. 1939 Eloy AZ married Barbara McIntire of Florence, AZ 3 children Cheryl, Brian and Grant Myers

3. Ruby Myers b. 1941 married (1)Bernard M. McKinley. (Div.)married Mr. Carter. 5 children

4. Ida Myers b. 1942 Coolidge, AZ married Ray Suggs (Easterm Airline [pilot) 3 children

5. James Myersb. 1946 Florence, AZ married Elizabeth Van Horn 1 child: Barrett Myers

6. Linda Myers of Phoenix

7. Michael "Mike" Myers

Audrey's brothers in Wyoming, came to visit her.

Survivors include her four daughters, Ida Suggs, Linda Myers, Ruby Carter and Lavern Kirk; three sons, Buddy, Jimmy and Mike Myers; a sister, Esley Childs Holwell; 17 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Burt and two brothers: Joe Childs and Carlos Lyndon Childs.

Simes Mortuaries Florence Chapel was in charge of arrangements. She is presumed buried by her husband Burt Myers in Florence Cemetery, AZ., however, there is no gravestone marking her burial.
