She moved to Kalkaska from Bellaire in 1965, and was a member of the Kalkaska Church of Christ and Kalkaska Senior Center.
Born on Nov. 24, 1911 in Charlevoix, she was the daughter of Walter and Della (Baker)Carson. She married Frank Severance on Aug. 2, 1931 in Boyne City. He preceded her in death on July 23, 1980. She then married Ralph Ball on March 10, 1983 in Bristol, Fla. He died on May 2, 1985.
Surviving are her sons Frank Severance of Bristol, Fla. and William Severance of Kalkaska, her daughter Virginia Franke of Traverse City, her brother Boyd Carson of East Jordan, her sister Fern Shaler of Boyne city and Judy Callesen of Mancelona, her half sisters Elsie Carson of Detroit and Susie Willis of Conway, six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Besides her husbands, she was preceded in death by her son Donald in 1995, and infant daughter Kathryn and special friend Elmer Simkins in 1995.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska where friends may call from 10 a. m.until the time of services. E. Dan Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Kalkaska. Memorial gifts may be made to the Kalkaska Church of Christ.
