Funeral Services were January 27 at Dickins Funeral Home Chapel for Minnie Lois Cosby, widow of Johnnie Davidson Cosby. Formerly of Pope, Mrs. Cosby was living in West Memphis Arkansas at the time of her death.
The 84 year-old died January 25 at Crittenden Memorial Hospital in West Memphis after a long illness. Rev. Jerry McNeir and Rev. Howard Armstrong officiated, with interment in Liberty Hill Cemetery in Pope. Dickins Funeral Home had charge.
Born December 18, 1905, in Panola County, she was the daughter of the late Eli N. Sturgis and Minnie Moore Sturgis. She was a housewife and one of the oldest members of Liberty Hill Baptist Church, Pope.
Mrs. Cosby leaves two daughters, Ouida Cosby Lawhorn of Hughes, Arkansas and Betty Jean Cosby Crogan of Water Valley, one son, James Edwin Cosby of Water Valley, one brother Leland Hardin Sturgis of Enid and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
