The funeral for Laura E Miklas, 79, Kensal, will be at 11 am Monday in St John's Catholic Church, Kensal, with the Rev. Neal Kapaun officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery, Kensal. Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30pm Sunday, with a prayer service at 7:30pm, at the church. She died Thursday, April 29, 1993, at St Alexis Hospital, Bismarck.

Laura Elizabeth Romelfanger was born March 7, 1914, in Kensal, the daughter of Nicholas and Lula (Van Vleck) Romelfanger. Whe grew up near Kensal, where she attended school. She married Joseph Miklas September 14, 1936, in Kensal. They farmed near Courtenay until 1975, when they retired. He died in 1981. She moved to Kensal. She was a member of St John's Catholic Church.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Lawrence and Betty, Hannaford, ND; Frank and Michelle, Clinton, TN; and James and Gwyn, Courtenay,ND; two daughters and a son-in-law, Mary and Russell Haas, Bismarck,ND; and Dorothy Conley, Grand Forks,ND; 10 grandchildren and a great-grandchild; and two sisters, Rose Romelfanger, Valley City, ND, and Merle Willenbring, Bovey, MN.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a brother, and nine sisters.
