Ray J. Johnson, 82, of 1130 Fremont St., Kiel, died on Thursday morning, November 30, 1989 at St. Nicholas Hospital, Sheboygan, where he had been a patient for three days.
He was born March 26, 1907 at Menomonie, WI., son of the late George E. and Laura Paulson Johnson. He attended Menomonie High School and Stout Institute.
On October 15, 1927 he married Adela Manz. He was employed at the former Kiel Woodenware for 48 years. He was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Kiel.
Survivors include his wife, Adela; two sons, F. George (Virginia) Johnson of Earlville, Il; James Johnson of Kiel; one daughter, Carolyn, of Plymouth; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one brother Glenn L. (Janette) Johnson, of Watertown, WI.; one sister, Mrs. Clarice Griffiths, of St. Paul, MN. He was preceded in death by one brother Robert; three grandchldren; one great-grandson.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30p.m. Sunday, December 3, 1989 at Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel with the Rev. Raymond C. Coombs, pastor of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Kiel,officiating. Burial will be at Trinity Cemetery, Town of Rhine. Friends may call at Meiselwitz Funeral Home from 12 noon Sunday, until the time of services.
A memorial fund has been established in his name.
