The youngest child of Norwegian immigrants,he died of pneumonia and left a young widow and four children. His parents gave the land for the Highland Cemetery. His wife Laura,his parents, his daughter and several siblings are also buried at Highland.

Funeral and burial on 10th February, 1920 per records of the North Menomonie Norwegian Lutheran Church, now called Christ Lutheran. He was 39 years old.
