Fred Medlock, son of Spenser and Etta Medlock was born at Raymondville in July, 1902, and died at St. John's Hospital in Springfield Oct. 11, 1955. His age was 53 years, 3 months and 7 days. He spent almost his entire life in Texas County.

He was united in marriage to Norma Dixon June 11, 1921. To this union were born eight children, six sons and two daughters. One son, Ivan, preceded him in death.

He had been in failing health for some time; however, he was thought to be improving from a recent illness and his death came as a shock.

Survivors are his wife, Norma; five sons: Glen of Licking, Bob of St. Louis; J.D., Parks Air Force Base, Calif.; Donnie and Ronnie of the home; two daughters, Thera Sanders, who is in Germany at the present time and unable to attend the funeral and Linda Kay of the home; and one baby granddaughter born Oct. 3; one sister, Mrs. Cora Benefiel of Yukon; and three brothers, Frank of Yukon, Vernon of Eunice, and Ernest of Olwein, Iowa.

Funeral services were held at the Big Creek church Saturday, Oct. 15, at 2 o'clock. Mrs. Sadie Miles was in charge. Burial in the church cemetery under the direction of Elliott Funeral Home of Houston.
