Samuel Abel DICKINSON was the ninth of ten children who grew to adulthood born to Dr. Samuel Burling DICKINSON and Caroline Elizabeth KINNISON. Samuel Abel DICKINSON was married to Laura Ann FINLEY on 03 May 1887 in Bandera County, Texas. Her parents were William H. FINLEY (1801-1889) who was born in Virginia and Mary Mahala BUCKALEW (1833-1884) who was born in Alabama.

Together, Sam and Laura had nine known children who grew to adulthood. Their names and approximate years of birth are shown below.

1889 Samuel William DICKINSON
1891 Carrie Lee DICKINSON
1893 Mary Ellen DICKINSON
1896 Eva Laura DICKINSON

Samuel Burling DICKINSON is a qualifying ancestor for membership in the General Society of Mayflower Descendants, the John Howland Society, the Sons of the Republic of Texas, the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, and Texas First Families.
