Lapel Farmer Dies Thursday
Lapel--Bernard Hersberger, 67, RR 2 Noblesville, died at 9 o'clock Thursday night at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville. He had been ill a short time. A son of Howard and Bertha Hersberger, Mr. Hersberger was born in Madison County and had lived in the Lapel community all his life. A farmer, he was a member of the Prairie Baptist Church, the Otterbein Brotherhood and Sisterhood and the Farm Bureau.
Survivors include his widow, Mae; six daughters, Mrs. Maxine Thompson, Mrs. Lenora Riggs, Mrs. Leona Stoner, Mrs living Flanders, and Mrs. living Morris, all of Noblesville, and Mrs. Betty Hill, Cicero; a son Leslie Hersberger, Noblesville; two brothers, John Hersberger, Lapel, and Tilghman Hersberger, Noblesville; a sister, Mrs. Arna Sheller, Noblesville; 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The body was taken to the Fisher Brothers Funeral Home where friends will be received at 7 o'clock this evening. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The Rev. Leon Lutz of the Prairie Baptist Church, assisted by the Rev. Wayne Markward of the Clarksville Christian Church, will be in charge. Interment will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery, south of Noblesville.
