Services for Betty H. Walker, 71, Tyler, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday at Smith Temple Church of God in Christ with Bishop David R. Houston officiating.

Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park under the direction of Brooks-Sterling & Garrett Funeral Directors, Tyler.

Mrs. Walker died Feb. 11 in Tyler.

She was born May 1, 1932, in Tyler, and attended Scott High school and Yates High School in Houston. She was a domestic worker and member of Greater Love Temple COGIC, where she taught Sunday school.

Survivors include her husband, Superintendent Gethry Walker, Tyler; son, Shawn Walker, Tyler; daughters, Renee Lindsey and Cherry Walker, both of Tyler, and Angela Walker, Austin; sisters, Alicestein Gray, California, and Jean Hardy, Houston; and nine grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Solon Tillman Jr., Willie Allen Jr., Billy Tennyson, Marcus Hunter, Eugene Hood, Cedric Grandberry, Keith Henry, Pernel Haygood and Semein Chimney.

Honorary pallbearers are Daryl Jordon, Nikolai K. Browning, Gethry Walker Jr., John Robinson, Eleler Hendrick, James Johnson, Raymond Walker Jr., Reggie Wheeler, Elder Lynch and Elder Wooten.

Family will receive friends 7-8 p.m. Wednesday at Greater Love Temple COGIC.
