Hugh Guthrie Rites Today

Funeral services for Hugh Guthrie of Fort Worth, a native of Smith County, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Cassimere Funeral Chapel with the Rev. R.L. Taylor officiating.

Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery.

Mr. Guthrie died Sunday in a Tyler Hospital after a lengthy illness. He had resided in Fort Worth for the past 20 years.

He was a retired employee of J. C. Penney's and of Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God in Christ of Fort Worth, and was a member of the North Tyler Lodge No. 306.

Survivors include a son, Willie Hugh Guthrie of Houston, six daughters, Mrs. Carla Miles, Mrs. Ruby Auzenne and Mrs, Lillian Richardson, all of Houston, Mrs. Alistine Gray of Compton, Calif., Mrs. Betty Walker of Tyler, and Mrs. Dorothy Dillard of Fort Worth; two brothers, Sam Earl Collins of Tyler and Foster Grant of Odessa; one sister, Mrs. Jewel Whitmill of Whitehouse; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be the Rev. Gethry Walker, Raymond Dillard, Clarence Joseph, Willie Guthrie and Royal Gray.
