Gladys was very humble in her up bringing. She was always in a happy mood, and at the Lydon family reunions - she was always the life of the family. She was always having a good time when visiting with family.

I remember my Mom was always so happy to learn that Gladys was coming to Winterst to visit.

I hope that her daughter can write a great bio for her since I know they truely love their Mother and could write a outstanding memorial for her.

Gladys Wickenburg Cox, 84, a resident of Heartland Health Care Center, Moline, and formerly of Rock Island, died Sunday, April 29, 2007, at the center.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Wheelan Funeral Home, Rock Island. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Gladys Lydon was born April 24, 1923, in Stuart, Iowa, a daughter of M. Bernard and Velva Nelson Lydon. She was raised and educated in Greenfield, Iowa. She married Roy L. Wickenburg, July 19, 1951, in West Des Moines, Iowa. He died Nov. 14, 1976. She later married Charles E. Cox, Dec. 27, 1986, in Moline.
Gladys worked at the Rock Island Arsenal in early years. She later worked at the Servus Rubber Co., and she retired from the Fresh Pak Candy Co.
She was a member of First Christian Church, Moline.
Gladys enjoyed working in her yard, traveling and dancing.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-laws, Rhonda and Gary Chard, Illinois City, and Judy and Greg Blesie, Spring Hill, Fla.; grandsons, Nicholas Blesie and his fiancee, Nicole DePace, Tampa, Fla., and Brandon Blesie and his wife, Shauna, Spring Hill; great-grandson, Ashton Blesie, Spring Hill; brothers, Lawrence and Robert Lydon, both of Greenfield; and sisters, Delores Rogers, Heber Springs, Ark., and Arlene Jensen, Ankeny, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Lucile Johnston, Louise Bohan, Veronica Sloss and Lois Pettit; and brothers, Leo, Thomas, Ernest, Earl and infant brother, Donald Lydon.
