VERONICA AGNES SLOSS

Veronica Agnes Sloss, daughter of Bernard and Velva (Nelson) Lydon, was born February 8, 1919 in Greenfield, IA. She passed away Saturday, November 18, 2006 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.
Veronica was married to Marvin Sloss on March 2, 1938 in Des Moines. Together they farmed in the Guthrie Center area for many years. For the past 17 years she lived at Crestview Acres in West Des Moines where she enjoyed her many friends and family.
Veronica enjoyed needle work, flowers, playing bingo and attending movies at Crestview.
Veronica is survived by three sons: Gary of Guthrie Center, Alvin (Hue) of Bettendorf, Craig (Susan) of Ankeny, nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lawrence and Robert Lydon of Greenfield; three sisters, Gladys Cox of Rock Island, IL, Arlene Jensen of Ankeny, Delores Rogers of Heber Springs, AR and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four brothers and three sisters.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 22, 2006 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Lilian Gallo-Seagren, officiating. Burial will be at Union Cemetery in Guthrie Center. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Beidelman-Twigg Funeral Home in Guthrie Center.
