Albert was the oldest child of Prussian immigrant William Frederick Pupp and Wisconsin native Louisa Kroening Pupp. He was born in Marathon County, Wisconsin and raised there in Holton Township on the family farm along with his eight younger siblings. During his younger years Albert worked hard bringing in hay, building roads, and planting trees. He also enjoyed playing card games like sheepshead and appreciated fine horses.
As a young man of twenty, Albert met the love of his life Agnes Grinkevich at a dance in Dorchester. Agnes went to work in Chicago as did her father to make ends meet for his family in the Town of Little Black, Wisconsin returning home only a few times a year. Albert followed Agnes there and got a factory job as a machinist. They married about two and a half years later on 21 May 1927 in Cicero, IL and lived there until the early 1930s. The Pupps went back to Marathon County and then settled in neighboring Clark County, WI at Dorchester.
Albert Paul Pupp's experience in the Chicago factories served him well and he got a job as a turret lathe machinist at Briggs & Stratton in Milwaukee, WI. This meant moving the family, but was a move towards relative prosperity.
Albert was 72 years of age at the time of his death. He left behind Agnes his wife of 49 years, nine children, 36 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and all eight of his siblings. He is remembered with fond thoughts and is missed by many.
