RUPERT--Deon Frank Jensen, 63, Rupert, died Saturday, June 5, 1999, at the Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake City.
He was born Jan 27, 1936, in Rupert, the son of Harvey Anthem and Evelyn Viola Anderson Jensen. He was raised in Rupert and graduated from Rupert High School. He was a member of the LDS Church and had served in the United States Army. He enjoyed working on cars. He worked for Amalgamated Sugar until his health declined.
Deon enjoyed being with family and friends. He always had a "cheesy" grin on his face.
He married MarLee Carter on August 10, 1968, and they later divorced. He married Rose Kirby Nichols in August 1975 and she died Sept 15, 1978. He married Daphne Sprague on December 20, 1992.
He is survived by his wife Daphne of Burley; one son, David Wayne Jensen of Burley; a daughter, Mrs. Stephanie (James) Burgoyne; two granddaughters, Erinn Beth and Shanen Alyce Burgoyne of Rupert; also three step-daughters, Cathy Young, Freida Bunn and Sheila Bench; eight step-sons, Frank, William, Steve, Forrest, Howard, Stanley, Don and Fred; numerous step-grand and step-great grandchildren; three brothers, Delwyn A Jensen of Brigham City, Utah, Royce E. Jensen of Rupert, and Howard Gene Jensen of Burley; two sisters, Judy Renee Sanders of Rupert, and Darlene Joyce VonDohlin of Pocatello.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents; a brother, Harvey Leon Jensen; a sister, Dorothy Marie; a great-nephew, Richard Mark Jensen; four cousins, Jerry Lee, Victor Edward and Ray Anderson, and Thomas Robbins; two step-sons, Harley and David Sprague; and numerous aunts and uncles.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 12, 1999, at the Rupert LDS West Stake Center, 100 W. 36 S. Burial will be in Rupert Cemetery with military rites.
Services are under the direction of Hansen Mortuary Rupert Chapel.
