Funeral services for Wright City resident Joel Aaron, 68, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Hugo. William Frye and Lester Tims will officiate. Burial will follow in Goodland Cemetery, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home, Hugo.

Aaron died Thursday at his home. He was born June 7, 1934, at Spencerville, the son of Alex Aaron and Agnes (Tims) Aaron. He had lived in Wright City for the past 42 years, and retired from Weyerhaeuser, where he worked for 30 years.

He was an active member of Hampton Chapel United Methodist Church, Spencerville, for more than 35 years. He married Marian Wickson on Sept. 9, 1960, at Hampton Chapel. She preceded him in death on March 18, 2000.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Joel Aaron Jr.; and two sisters, Esther Louis and Josephine Colbert.

Survivors include four daughters, Lucilla Gibson and Cynthia Aaron, both of Wright City, Sandra Franklin of Valliant and Jeanetta Aaron of Durant; one brother, Stephen Aaron of Hugo; one sister, JoAnna Taylor of Wright City; and nine grandchildren.
