Mr. Channing Joseph Knotts, 84, of 2115 Jefferson Ave., Huntington, W.Va., husband of Inez Monroe Knotts, died Monday, Aug. 19, 1985, in St. Mary's Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at Reger Funeral Chapel, Huntington, by the Rev. Gary E. Hale. Burial will be in Spring Valley Memory Gardens. He was born Nov. 9, 1900, in Calhoun County, W.Va., a son of the late Joseph and Dora Conley Knotts. He was a retired American Car Foundary employee and a U.S. Army veteran. He was preceded in death by a son Russell M. Knotts. Also surviving are two daughters, Clara May Sharp of South Point, Ohio, and Betty Ruth Houchins of Huntington; three sons, Rufus Knotts of Dayton, Ohio, Joseph C. Knotts of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Fletcher A. Knotts of Bradenton, Fla.; 17 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
