Former Coffeyville resident, May F. (Thornbrugh) Stipp, 102, of Apple Valley, California, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2008. May was born May 2, 1905 in Bluejacket, Indian Territory, Oklahoma, the daughter of Leonard and Clara (Parret) Thornbrugh. She attended schools in Ruby, OK, and Altamont, KS. She and Paul Stipp were united in marriage in 1925. May enjoyed being a homemaker and staying home to raise their children, Billy and Vellajane. She was a member of the Central Church Of The Nazarene, active in prison ministries and loved crocheting. Surviving to honor her memory is her son, Billy Stipp and wife, Joanne of Arvada, CO; daughter, Vellajane and husband, Dr. Austin Gaddis of Apple Valley, CA; grandsons, Bruce and Brent Gaddis of Apple Valley, CA; granddaughters, Debra Gibson of Georgetown, KY, Jana Hoffland of Rockton, IL, and Julie Hoefler of Arvada, CO; 9 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and three brothers. Funeral services for May will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2008 at the Central Church Of The Nazarene, Coffeyville where the family will greet friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Coffeyville. Memorial contributions may be given to Central Church Of The Nazarene in care of Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel.
