They were parents of the following six children:
1. Carl Thomas Mitchem 10/8/1935 - 12/8/2009 (m. Wynell Blackwell), New Harmony, FL;
2. Othela Mitchem born & died 12/19/1937;
3. Ella Catherine Mitchem Smith b. 7/31/1939 (m. R.Dee Smith) of Darlington FL;
4. Jeremiah Lewis Mitchem b. 5/4/1942 (m. Juanita Porter),Darlington, FL;
5. Charlie Union Mitchem b. 11/15/1944 d. 10/9/2004 (m. Bernice Mae Addison), Darlington, FL; and
6. Wendell Arvin Mitchem b. 11/8/1949 (m. Deborah Kay Lenington), Darlington, FL.
