Allen R. Dickson Dies in Salem
Allen R. Dickson, 76, died of a heart ailment in his sleep early Friday morning at his home in Salem. Born in Ellsworth township, July 23, 1884, he was the son of Robert W. and Jettie Allen Dickson, and most of his life was spent in the locality, where he was engaged in farming. He moved to Salem 14 years ago, and had been employed by the Salem tool Co. Mr. Dickson was a member of the Ellsworth Presbyterian church, Ellsworth grange, Ellsworth Extension Club, Salem Senior Citizens Club, and Salem Historical Society. His wife, the former Lettie McConnell, whom he married in 1911, died Dec. 30 1958, and a son, Maurice, died in 1941. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Harold Brown of Ellsworth and Mrs. George Berry of Williamson, N.Y.; a son, Robert L. Dickson of Beloit, and seven grandchildren. Funeral services, with the Rev. Gwynn Walters officiating, were held Monday afternoon at the church and burial made in the Ellsworth cemetery.
