Burial was in St. Felix cemetery. Pallbearers were six sons, John, Walter, Harry, Irvin and Phillip Balow of Wabasha and Albert Balow of Peoria, Ill.
Mrs. Balow died at their home at 6:30 p.m. Monday following a heart attack. She had been in ill health for two months.
Surviving are her husband; six sons; four daughters, Mrs. Mark Keenan of Somonauk, Ill., Clara, at home, and Mrs. Ella St. Jacque and Mrs. Thomas Barton of Kellogg; one sister, Mrs. Mary Donant of Minneapolis; 22 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Two daughters, Louise and Rose, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Balow, whose maiden name was Barbara Salzmann, was born on a farm at Greenfield near Wabasha, February 22, 1863. She spent her girlhood there and was married to Henry Balow 55 years ago. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in Wabasha five years ago.
With the exception of several years in Eau Claire after her marriage, Mrs. Balow resided in this vicinity all her life. Mr. and Mrs. Balow retired from their farm in Greenfield ten years ago, and moved to Wabasha. They lived here since that time.
Among the out-of-town relatives here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Keenan, daughters and son, Robert, of Somonauk, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Balow of Peoria and Mrs. Donant of Minneapolis.
