REV. EARL RAYMOND ALLEN
Retired Carpenter
Rev. Earl Raymond Allen, 87, of Ava, died Saturday, April 17, 1999 at his home.
He served in the navy during World War II. He was a member of the Apostolic Church in Ava and IOOF Lodge 480 in East St. Louis. He was a retired construction carpenter.
He was born June 14, 1911 in East Bt. Louis to Ernest and May Walther Allen.
He mart-led Rosie C. Downs September 26, 1960 in Coulterville. She survives.
He is also survived by seven sons, Bill Schaeffer of Staunton, Kevin Allen and Vance Allen of Ava, Mark Allen of Zeigler, Roger Allen of Coulterville, Dennis Allen of Willisville, and Raymond Broshears of California; six daughters, Sandra Hewerdine, Angelia& Kilpatrick and Alecia Allen, all of Ava, Starr Gardner of Coulterville, Mary Lou Gregory of Tilden, and Toni Grant of Lafayette, Indiana; 20 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles Allen of Bullhead, Arizona, and two sisters, Marie Palmeir of Glen Carbon and Helen Jones of Bakersfield, California.
He was preceded In death by his parents, one brother, Walt, and two grandchildren.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 20, 1999 at Apostolic Church in Ava with Rev. Joseph Edmonson and Rev. Phillip Keeton officiating. Burial was in Ava Evergreen Cemetery.
Wilson's Funeral Home In Ava was in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to Apostolic Churoh.
