Florence "Ceil" Stoller
Florence "Ceil" Stoller, 90, Green Bay, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 19, 2014. She was born the daughter of Joseph and Rose Lapacz in the Town of Chase on December 9, 1923.
As one of 13 siblings, she learned the value of hard work on the farm. She left for Chicago as a young adult and held various jobs that included housekeeping for families, order filling for Aldens catalog on roller skates (she did not last long there), and factory work, making bullet casings during WWII. Florence returned to Green Bay and worked at Wheeler Cheese where she met and married Vernon Stoller on September 3, 1949, and joined St. Jude Parish. She was a loving mother who made sure her children had a hot breakfast before school.
Florence loved to garden and bake cookies, rolls, cakes, pies and more. She shared it all with the neighbors and her children's friends. Though Florence had no grandchildren of her own, the young neighbor children received treats on all of the holidays. She also enjoyed her travels with her daughter to Hawaii, Florida, and New Mexico.
Florence is survived by three children, James Stoller and Alan Stoller, both of Green Bay; and Carol Stoller, Albuquerque, NM; four sisters and one brother, Helen Nitka, Cascade; Lillian Kush, Green Bay; Clara Mleziva, Denmark; Frances Lotto, Green Bay; and Alex Lapacz, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon; two infant daughters, Barbara and Diane; brothers, Ted, Louis, John, Tony, Eddie, and Stanley Lapacz; and one sister, Marie.
Friends may call at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1420 Division St., from 10 a.m. to Noon Thursday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Noon Thursday at the church with Rev. Ryan Krueger officiating. Burial will be in Fort Howard Memorial Park. Blaney Funeral Home is assisting the family. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.
A memorial fund has been established in Florence's name.
The family would like to extend a special thank you the staffs of Unity Hospice and Tender Hearts Assisted Living for their kind and compassionate care given to Florence.
