Ila Eileen Henderson was born December 6, 1928 on the family homestead 1-1/2 miles west of Plover, Iowa, on the north side of the road. She was the first child born to Raymond and Margaret Henderson. She attended the Plover Consolidated Public School and graduated in 1946.

In the Fall of 1946, she attended college at Park College in Parkville, Missouri. In 1947 she transferred to Iowa State Teacher's College in Cedar Falls, Iowa, where she graduated in November of 1948. Her first teaching position was in Plover teaching kindergarten and first grade. Then in 1949 she accepted a position in Manson,Iowa teaching first grade for the next four years.

In 1953 she moved to Port Hueneme, California, where she again found a position teaching first grade. She attended college at Colorado State Teachers College. This is also the year she obtained her 1952 seafoam green Ford convertible. She attended classes in CSULA where she obtained her AB degree in 1956. She then moved to Montebello, California and taught fourth grade for a year and on to Whittier, California in 1958 where she became a fifth grade teacher. Eileen went on to receive her Masters Degree in 1962 and began teaching 7th, 8th, and 9th grade English. During this time, Eileen had joined the First Friends Church in Whittier and sang in the choir for 16 years. She also purchased a new 1964 Chevrolet Impala which she drove until 1987.

From June 1966 to July 1967 Eileen took Sabbatical Leave and traveled all over Europe, Egypt, the Middle East, Greece, to the Montreal Expo, and through the Scandinavian countries. When she returned, she taught one more year and then became a counselor and Girl's Vice-Principal. She later went on to become Assistant Principal of instruction and later Principal from 1979 until 1988.

Eileen married Bob Babcock in 1973 in Whittier College First Friends Chapel. They later divorced in December of 1982.

In 1987, Eileen became a consultant for Getty Art Program. In 1989 she became self-employed with educational services and products.

On March 17, 1997, Eileen lost her fight with cancer and went on to her Heavenly reward and is now in Eternity with Jesus Christ and many loved ones. Her baby sister, Virginia, just made the journey across the threshold of Heaven and they are now united with their parents and other family members. They are both so very missed by those left behind, but their family here on Earth rejoices in the knowledge that they will all be reunited again someday.
