MARVIN WIER

Marvin W. Wier, 53, of 1309 S. 26th St., Manitowoc, died Wednesday evening in Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Pfeffer Funeral Home and 11 a.m. in St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Harold Berryman will officiate with burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Military graveside rites will be accorded Mr. Wier by Amvets Post No. 99 of Manitowoc.
Mr. Wier was born Nov. 5, 1923, in Manitowoc, son of Joseph and Mathilda Burry Wier. He resided in Manitowoc all his life, attended Manitowoc schools and was graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1941. He married Eunice Kustka Aug. 7, 1946, in St. Mary Church. Mr. Wier was employed the past 14 years as driver-salesman with Heileman Breweries. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Fourth Marine Division. He was a member of Amvet Post No. 99, American Legion Drews-Bleser Post No. 88, Seagulls, Old Timers Baseball Assn., Manitowoc Historical Society and Fourth Marine Division Assn.
Survivors include his wife, a son, Staff Sgt. William J. of Milwaukee; a daughter, Mrs. Terry (Kathleen) Colombo of Fremont, Calif.; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Wier, a brother, Alvin, and four sisters, Mrs. Norman (Grace) Robinson, Mrs. Albin (Florence) Geigel, Mrs. Norman (Dorothy) Brandt and Mrs. John (Ruth) Nuhs, of Manitowoc; three granddaughters, Carrie, Erika and Melanie Wier, a brother-in-law, Robert Kustka, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Violet Schenian. A brother, Chester, preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday, where a memorial service will be at 7 p.m.
