Mrs. Joseph (Mathilda) Wier, 87, of 2314 Marshall St., Manitowoc, died Sunday, Nov. 29, at Holy Family Extended Care Facility, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Harold Berryman will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Wier, nee Mathilda Anna Burry, was born April 24, 1894, at Manitowoc, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Burry. She was married to Joseph Wier Nov. 22, 1915, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The couple celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary in November of 1961. Mrs. Wier was a member of Gold Star Mothers of Manitowoc.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph; a son and daughter-in-law, Alvin and Lois Wier of Manitowoc; four daughters and sons-in-law, Grace and Norman Robinson of Manitowoc, Florence and Albin Geigel of Two Rivers, and Dorothy and Norman Brandt and Ruth and John Nuhs of Manitowoc; 17 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and a great great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by two sons, Chester and Marvin.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home from 4 o’clock to 9 o’clock this Monday evening where a prayer service will be conducted at 7:30 o’clock by Deacon Ed Buchner.
