Mrs. Alvin (Mary) Rein, 84, formerly of 1038 N. 14th Street, who now resided at North Ridge Care Center, died Friday, April 5, at Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Rein was born Decmeber (sic) 24, 1900, at Prague, Czechoslovakia, daughter of the late Frank and Anna Jarosh Skala. She came to the United States as a young girl with her parents, making their home at Manitowoc. She attended local schools. She married Alvin Rein on September 22, 1923, at Manitowoc. The couple resided here in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death in 1983. Mrs. Rein was a member of First Church of Christ Scientist, 20 Gardeners, Rebecca Lodge and the VFW Auxiliary.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Marvin and Mary Rein of Manitowoc and Arnold and Jean Rein of Menasha; six grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many friends also survived. She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Cremation has taken place with burial at Evergreen Cemetery.
Memorials would be appreciated to North Ridge Care Center and Life Line at Memorial Hospital. There will be no evening visitation at the funeral home. Jens Funeral Home and Crematory assisted the family with arrangements.
