MARVIN F. REIN----Marvin F. Rein, age 72, of 1413 N. 6th St., Manitowoc, died Thursday, February 27,
1997, died Thursday, February 27, 1997, at North Ridge Medical and Rehabilitation
Center, Manitowoc.
It was Marvin's wish not to have any services, with cremation to take place and
burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
He was born June 23, 1924, in Manitowoc, son of the late Alvin and Mary Skala Rein.
He was educated in the Manitowoc School System, graduating with the class of 1942
from Lincoln High School. He served in the United States Navy from 1942 to 1946.
He was appointed maintenance man for the Manitowoc Police Department on November 1,
1947. He was appointed patrolman on December 29, 1947. He was appointed acting
sergeant August 16, 1966. He was appointed full sergeant October 16, 1966. He was
appointed acting Lieutenant on September 25, 1970. He was appointed full lieutenant
on March 25, 1971. He retired June 9, 1981. He married Mary Hunter on September 28,
1946, in Manitowoc. Marvin was a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Rein, Manitowoc; one son, Scott Rein, Norfolk, Va.;
one daughter, Heather Rein, Manitowoc; one brother and sister-in-law, Arnold and Jean
Rein, Manitowish Waters; two granddaughters, Jennifer Darieng, Norfolk, Va., Andrea
Rein, Manitowoc.
Memorials may be made to Holy Family Memorial Hospice and the North Ridge Medical and
Rehabilitation Center.
The Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
