Andrew came to Texas in 1834 as is stated in Headright Certificate No. 80 issued to him February 5, 1838 for one-twelfth of a league of land by the Robertson County Board of Land Commissioners. He was issued Bounty Certificate No. 4170 for 1280 acres of land August 7, 1838 for having served in the army from March 4, 1836 to April 17, 1837. Although left with the baggage at the camp opposite Harrisburg on April 21, 1836, he was issued Donation Certificate No. 602 for 640 acres of land for having participated in the Battle of San Jacinto.
