Ivin Elmer Hunt, aged 76, passed away May 29, 2002, at 8:45 a.m. in the Dixie Regional Medical Center from Pulmonary Fibrosis.
He was born 16 August 1925 to Thomas Elmer and Emma Day Hunt. He was the eight child of eleven born to the couple.
Ivin served in the Army during World War II. Upon returning he met and married his sweetheart Edna Gubler from Santa Clara on 13 September 1949 in the St. George LDS Temple. Their posterity includes five children, 22 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
He was a man of few words, and a big heart. He was known for his hard work, and integrity. You could tell the type of man he was by simply shaking his hand. His weather-worn calloused hands were firm and confident and friendly.
An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Ivin served in many positions throughout his life but his best lessons were taught one on one through the example he set.
Ivin is survived by his wife; children: Devon Ivin (Debra) of Pleasant Grove; Kelly Edmund (Becky) of Enterprise; Fenton Gubler (Janis) of Murray; Allyson Wood (Dean) of Delta; and Madelyn Derrick (Dan) of Santa Clara; sister Geneva (Clair) Jones; seven brothers, Clair (Madge); Elwin (Gene); Ellis (Ione); Bill (Edith); Floyd (Lois); Preston (Darlene); Larry (Barbara)Hunt; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and lots of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters: Ollie and Larilla; four brothers-in-law; and four sisters-in-law.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 1, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. in the Enterprise Utah LDS Stake Center. Viewings held Friday night 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the Metcalf Mortuary and Saturday 9:00-10:30 a.m. at the Enterprise Stake Center. Interment will be in the Enterprise City Cemetery.
