HERTA CHRISTINE “HATTIE “ BLUMER FRANK

Harvard resident Herta Christine “Hattie” Blumer Frank, 99 years of age, died Wednesday, October 25, 1995, at the Harvard Rest Haven in Harvard, Nebraska. Services are 11 AM Saturday at the Alberding-Wilson Funeral Home in Harvard with the Rev. Clarence Campbell officiating. Burial will be in the Harvard Cemetery. Hattie Blumer was born April 30, 1896, to Abraham and Elizabeth Zimbelman Blumer in a sod house house in Hamilton County. Her father passed away shortly before her fifth birthday. Her mother married Baltz Leutzinger and added three brothers and one sister to her family. (Another sister & brother died in infancy.) On December 23, 1914, at age 18, she married Walter Karl Frank. They where the parents of four children: Verla, Clyde, Beulah, and Marilyn. They farmed north of Harvard and in 1949 they moved to Harvard where they managed the Farmer’s Union Cream Station. Her husband died in 1957, and she resided with her daughter Verla in Harvard until moving to the Harvard Rest Haven in 1982. She was a member of the Harvard United Church of Christ, Women’s Fellowship, Women’s Quilters, Chapter #70 Order of the Eastern Star, the Blue Valley Club and the Justamere Club all of Harvard. Survivors are: daughter Beulah Wagner (and Walter), daughter-in-law Flora Frank, brother Harold Leutzinger, grandchildren--Linda Bruning, Walter Wagner, Carmen Samples and Clyde Frank, Jr.; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by son Clyde, daughters Marilyn and Verla, sisters Gladys Leutzinger and Clara Paulus, brothers Marlin, Chester and Edward Leutzinger and grandson Richard Wagner. Alberding-Wilson Funeral Home are in charge of the arrangements.
