The funeral for Opal Cook Cox, 75, of Adams Street will be held at 2 p.m. today at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home by Max Tice and Steve Wolfgang. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens. She died Thursday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born July 11, 1920, in Boyle County, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Roxie Powell Cook. She was retired from Palm Beach Co. and belonged to Church of Christ on Lexington Road.
Survivors include her husband, Lewis Cox of Danville; one daughter, Fayola Galloway of Danville; two sons, Ronald Dean Cox of Dallas, Texas, and Billy Cox of Jacksonville, Fla.; one brother, Dallas Cook of Louisville; two sisters, Pauline Hubbard of Moreland and Agnes Sneed of Louisville; 14 grandchildren; and 20 greatgrandchildren.
Pallbearers are Melvin, Todd and Bill Cox Jr.; Darren and Billie Galloway; and Tim Wallace.
Visitation is 8 a.m. until funeral time.
