William L Cox
William Lewis Cox, 82, of Adams Street died Saturday at his home.
Born March 22, 1919, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Ulus and Edith Hollon Cox. He was a former Danville police officer and a member of Danville Church of Christ. He was an Army veteran of World War II and the widow of Opal Cook Cox.
Survivors include a daughter, Fayola Galloway of Danville; two sons, Ron Cox of Fort Worth, Texas, and Bill Cox of Orange Park, Fla; a sister, Christine Cox of Danville; a brother, Melvin Cox of Kings Mountain; 14 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home by Steve Wolfgang and Scott Vifquain. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Tuesday.

Miss Opal Cook, 17 years of age and Mr Louis Cox, 18, of Gravel Switch motored here Friday afternoon and at 5:30 o'clock were united in marriage in the home of Rev George W Wells, the officiating minister. The young couple will reside on a farm near Graveel Switch.
