She was born Feb. 16, 1886, on a farm west of Fairbury, one of 12 children of Carl August and Emilie Fandrei Treager.
She grew up in the community around School District #29. She was baptized and confirmed in Zion Church at Gladstone. On Feb. 5, 1905, she was married to Floyd A. Feith. They celebrated their 50th anniversary on Feb. 5, 1955.
The Feith's, for the most of their married lives resided on an acreage, northwest of Fairbury, known widely as Sandy Nook. Here they grew garden produce, particularly melons and vegetables.
Their home was a gathering place for many family reunions for many years.
In 1955 they moved to Fairbury, where her husband died June 28, 1966.
Mrs. Feith enjoyed flowers and her gardens were colorful spots. Even in her advancing years, she took care of vegetables and fruit from her garden.
After moving to Fairbury, Mrs. Feith attended the Fairbury United Methodist Church until faulty hearing and deteriorating health interfered.
n June 1980, she went to live at the Heritage of Fairbury.
Survivors include her brother, Otto Traeger and his son, Marvin of Fairbury; nieces and nephews, Deyo and Fred Traeger, Mrs. Lyle Swett, Mrs. John Stolting, Emma Feith, Mildred Black, Viola Eilts, and Mrs. Gerhardt Hoeting, all of Fairbury area, C. W. Traeger of Lincoln, Louis Ridder and Keith Traeger of California, Carl Traeger of Oregon and Eileen Dellevar of Iowa.
Services were May 12 in the Traum-Vance-Gerdes Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roger Gillming, officiating. Mrs. Harold Chatelain was organist. A memorial was Established to the United Methodist Church. Pallbearers were Dennis Traeger, Gary Traeger, Jon Black, Clarence Black Walter Hoeting, and Gilbert Luehring. Burial was in the Fairbury Cemetery.
