Mrs. Ridder died at her home, five miles southwest of Fairbury, on Friday, April 20, 1923 at 3:20 PM at the age of 41 years and 18 days. Death was caused by cancer of the stomach from which she had suffered since last November. She had been bed fast since January 24.

Clara W. Traeger was born April 2, 1882, near Fairbury, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Traeger, now deceased. She was married in Jefferson County, January 15, 1902 to F. S. Ridder, who survives her, with three children, Elsie, Esther, and Theodore. There are also three sisters and four brothers living near Fairbury.

Funeral Services were held at the Methodist Church in Fairbury at 3:00 PM, Rev. Furman, the pastor, preaching. Short services were held at the home preciously. Interment was in the Fairbury Cemetery.
