Grace Mae Emmons Seitter was the 2nd of nine children born to Nelson and Ida Collins Emmons. Her father entered the race for land in the Cheyenne-Arapaho land opening of 1892. He obtained a claim near Okeene in Blaine County and immediately moved his family to the claim. Grace attended elementary school Dist #1 in the first sod school building in Blaine County. She was a member of the 1905 Okeene graduating class, the first class to graduate in Blaine County,OK. She had taught school two years prior to graduating, and after graduation, she continued with her teaching. On May 2,1906, she married William Seitter of Geary and they became the parents of nine children. They spent the first 13 years of their married life on Will's homestead near Lookeba. They later purchased Will's father's farm west of Geary and resided there until they moved into Geary in 1943. She lived there until 1976. Then she lived with a son, Calvin, at Hinton, until she passed in 1978.
