Services will be held a 10 a.m. Tuesday at the F.D. Sweet & Son Chapel in Orland for Anna McCartor-Manos, 103, of Orland. She died March 14, 1997 at the Country Farm House in Orland.
She was born July 9, 1893 in O'Keene, OK, the fifth of nine children, to Nelson and Ida Emmons.
On July 23, 1911 she married Jasper (Jap) McCarter in a double ceremony with her sister Charlotte and Charles Mangum. She was a homemaker.
The McCartors moved to California in May 1944 with their youngest daughter and settled in Orland. She sold Avon for many years, retiring in 1974 at the age of 81. She was an Orland resident for 54 years.
She was preceded in death in 1972 by her husband, Jap McCartor, and in 1988 by her second husband, Mike Manos, and by a grandson, Tim Nunes in 1987,
Survivors include her four children, Altice Bolster of Wichita Kansas, Don L. McCartor and M. C. (Mac) McCartor, both of Amarillo, TX, and Alta Nunes of Orland. There are 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 28 great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Orland Volunteer Fire Department in care of the mortuary.
Visitation will be from 1 to 5 and 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at the mortuary.
Burial will be at the Orland Odd Fellows Cemetery. - Transcribed by E.
