Dorothy Kistler, of New Tripoli, died Sunday at the home of her son, Charles where she resided. She was 83. She was married 54 years to the late Charles J. Kistler, former auctioneer, Lehigh County register of wills and county commissioner. Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Rosa M. (Kramer) Rau. Dorothy was a square dancer with the Promenaders of Earl Keller and the Melody Rangers in New Tripoli for many years. She was a member of Jordan Lutheran Church, Orefield. Survivors: Son, Charles Kistler; brother, Melvin Rau of Slatington; sister, Arlene Stauffer of Schnecksville; granddaughters, Brittany L. Kistler of New Tripoli and Nicole M. Garris of Orefield; great grandson Kyle Shade; nieces and nephews. Services: Friends and family are invited to call from 10-11 a.m. Thursday at Jordan Lutheran Church, 5103 Snowdrift Rd., Orefield, with graveside service to follow in the church cemetery.
