Velma I. Neideigh, 90, of Winterset, died Monday, May 14, 2012 at Winterset Care Center South in Winterset.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, May 18, at the Prairie City Church of the Brethren in rural Prairie City, Iowa. Burial will be in the Waveland Cemetery at Prairie City.
Velma was born at Marshalltown, Iowa, to William and Clara (Cordt) Thomas. She was married on September 30, 1939 at Bethany, MO to Glenn Eldon Neideigh. They lived on their farm near Prairie City for the majority of their lives.
Velma is survived by her daughter, Mary Ellen (Bill) Cole of Taneyville, MO; sons, Ben (Donna) Neideigh of Winterset and Glenn Dale (Lila) Neideigh of Runnells; brother, Arthur; sisters, Dorothea and Margaret; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Bud and Neil; sister, Marjorie; and granddaughter, Taylor Neideigh.
Visitation will be Thursday from noon to 8 p.m. at McCalley-Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. A visitation will also be held Friday from 10 a.m. till 2 p.m. at the Prairie City Church of the Brethren in rural Prairie City.
