A celebration of Marjorie's life will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2009, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Pastor Darrel Mitchell officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to Marjorie's family.
Marjorie was born on March 20, 1932, in Laray, Iowa, to William and Clara (Cordt) Thomas. She attended school in Marshall County and lived here all of her life. She was self-employed as a home health aide and a CNA in Marshalltown.
Marjorie was a member of Hope United Methodist Church. Her pride and joy was her family. She enjoyed playing cards, music, loved her yard and the outdoors, enjoyed taking pictures, picnicking and watching others fish.
Left to celebrate Marjorie's life are her children, Bill(Kris) Lee , Rosemary Ruopp, Becky (Jim) Goodell, Anni(Lynn ) Cripps, all of Marshalltown, Jean Osgood of Grundy Center and Jake (Linda ) Osgood of State Center, nine grandchildren: Jacque Osgood, Aaron Lee, Thomas Ruopp, Joseph Dier, Chandler Goodell, Ashley Redding, Brad Osgood, Tyler Osgood, Kadie Osgood, two great- grand-children, Zachary Osgood and Olivia Dier and four step-grandchildren: Christina Cripps, Nicholas Cripps, Josh Courter, and Jarred Goodell, her siblings Velma Neideigh, Runnells, Iowa, Dort Hackathorn, Prairie City, Iowa, Art(Cleo) Thomas, Melcher, Iowa and Margaret(Bob) Ingledue of Marshalltown, Iowa, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In death, Marjorie rejoins her parents, her infant son Ricky, and her brothers Bud and Neil Thomas.
