Son of James McCoy and grandson of Randolph McCoy of Hatfield McCoy fame. He uprooted his family during WWII to Indian Head, MD and lived a peaceful life as a tobacco farmer and also as a maintenance man at a local school. He was a child of 5 when his three uncles were tied to paw paw trees and shot by the Hatfield family and 10 years old when they went to his grandparents home on New Years night of 1888 and burned the cabin down. Another Uncle and an Aunt were killed in the attack. His Aunt Roseanna had an infamous Romeo and Juliet romance with Johnse Hatfield, one of those who attacked the McCoy cabin and killed the three brothers.
