NEW CANTON, Ill. -- Paula A. Billings, 51, of New Canton, died Thursday (Feb. 3, 2011) in Blessing Hospital, Quincy.

She was born March 1,1959, in Hannibal, Mo., a daughter of Harvey and Bessie Mixer Harrison. She married Kevin Billings on Aug. 17,1979, in Barry Baptist Church, Barry. He survives.

She was a graduate of Gem City Business College and John Wood Community College. She was employed as a teachers aid at Hull Elementary School and later at Western Elementary School in Barry.

Paula was a member of the New Canton United Methodist Church.

Paula enjoyed baking, word search puzzles and flower gardening. Her children and grandchildren were the joy of her life.

Survivors include her husband, Kevin Billings, of New Canton; a son, Bill Billings of New Canton; two daughters, Amanda (Jeremy) Power of Hannibal and Emily Billings of New Canton; four brothers, Harvey (Joyce) Harrison of Hannibal, George Harrison of Barry, Jerry (Rhonda) Harrison of Bluffs and Harry (Roberta) Harrison of Dayton, Ohio; four sisters, Mary (Jerry) Schultz of New Canton, Linda (Barry) House of Chatham, Brenda (Dwayne) Borrowman of Kinderhook and Rosette (John) Lister of Barry; and two grandchildren Jeremiah and Will Power.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Butch Sturtevant.

SERVICES: 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Niebur Funeral Chapel, Barry, with the Rev. Shelia Kelly conducting. Burial will be in Shearer Cemetery, New Canton.

VISITATION: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.

MEMORIALS: New Canton United Methodist Church or Shearer Cemetery.
