Brenda Borrowman, 59, of Kinderhook, IL passed away Sunday, June 18, 2017 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy. She was born on September 21, 1957 in Hannibal, MO to Harvey and Bessie (Mixer) Harrison. She married Duane Borrowman on February 26, 1977 at the Barry Baptist Church celebrating 40 years of marriage together and he survives.
Brenda worked as a cook for the Barry Community Care Center and West Pike School District for many years. She loved embroidery and cooking and enjoyed feeding large crowds and cooked for large family gatherings. She had attended and was baptized at the Barry Baptist Church in her early years. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and enjoyed attending their ball games and sports activities.
She is survived by her husband Duane, a son, Jared (April) Borrowman of Kinderhook and a daughter, Heather (J.D.) Briscoe of Hannibal. Three brothers: Harry (Roberta) Harrison of OH, George Harrison of Barry and Harvey (Joyce) Harrison of Hannibal. Three sisters: Mary (Jerry) Schulz of rural Barry, Rosette (John) Lister of Barry and Linda (Barry) House of Springfield, IL. Also surviving are six grandchildren: Jonathan Borrowman, Lilly Borrowman, Riley Lawson, Kayden Lawson, Jaden Briscoe and Brea Briscoe along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Christopher in 2015, a brother, Jerry and two sisters: Paula Billings and Shirley Sturtevant.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M., Thursday June 22, 2017 at Niebur Funeral Chapel in Barry with J.D. Briscoe officiating. Visitation will be from 1- 2:30 prior to the service on Thursday with burial at West Cemetery in Pittsfield following the service. Memorials are suggested to West Cemetery.
