Edward Ground was the son of Robert Ground and Elizabeth Goodnight (both buried at Pleasant Valley); **see his parents' gravesites for his siblings.

He married on 01 Mar 1866 in Dallas Co., TX, by Isaac Jones Elder, Mary Frances "Fannie" Lowe (buried at Pleasant Valley); they had the following children: Maude, Ada, Henry Carroll, Earnie, Betty, Mattie J. (buried at Pleasant Valley), Frances Belle, Annie, and 2 infant Grounds: one b. abt. 1882, and one b. abt. 1885. A few years after his marriage, they moved to Tarrant Co., TX, and engaged in the cattle business and lived there until he retired to Denton in 1913.

Edward registered 12 Sep 1874 his marks and brands: mark crop off left and under over (hope?) the right. Brand thus 2B on left side 60 on left of such as this.

Edward was an early Pioneer in Ellis Co., TX. He and his family lived on 1613 Mulberrty St., Denton, TX. He was a Mason.
