Mrs Frohwein was born Dora Funke at Hannover, Germany, March 6, 1865. In 1881 she came to the United States settling near State Center. Two years later, on December 19, 1883, she was married to George Frohwein at the home of her parents in State Center. They observed their 60th wedding anniversary in 1943 with a family reunion at the home of Mr and Mrs Leo Kielly in State Center.
Mr and Mrs Frohwein engaged in farming at different places in western Marshall county until 1918 when they retired and moved to State Center, after having sold their farm on Highway 30 west of town, which they lived in the homes of their children.
Mrs Frohwein was a member of St John's Lutheran Church and Trinity Aid Society.
Besides her widower and a few relatives living in Germany, Mrs Frohwein is survived by seven of her ten children. They are Mrs Henry Hunzelman, Mrs Eggers, Mrs Leo Kielly and L C Frohwein of State Center, Earl of Zearing, Fred of LeGrand and Harvey of Marshalltown. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Fred Eggers home at 1:30 pm and at St John's Lutheran Church at 2:00 pm Thursday, April 13, 1944, with Rev George H Perlich officiating. Interment will be in the family lot in Hillside cemetery.
