Mr. Frohwein died Friday evening at Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames after an illness of nearly two years.
Mr. Frohwein was born April 20, 1894. and was reared in the Zearing and State Center communities. He had been retired from farming and custom work for several years.
He was a member of St John's Lutheran Church at Hubbard.
Survivors include his widow, Theresa; two daughters: Mrs. Harold Bauer, Ames and Mrs. Vernon Eggers of Zearing; a son, Glen Frohwein of Zearing; 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; three brothers: Fred Frohwein and Harvey Frohwein, both of Marshalltown, and L. C. Frohwein of State Center; two sisters, Mrs. Fred Eggers and Mrs. Rosella Brink, both of State Center.
He was preceded in death by five children.
