Hazel, the infant daughter of Chas. Edgecomb and wife, died Saturday, July 22, after a short illness, of summer complaint. Rev. L. Wolfe preached the funeral Sunday afternoon. It was buried in a cemetery near the Star school house They all have the sympathy (sic) [of the] neighborhood. The old must, die and the yonng (sic) [young] may die.

We desire to thank the kind people of Sherman and vicinity for their generous assistance through the sickness, death and burial of our dear little daughter Hazel. May you receive your reward in the better world.
